Our parish council meeting held last Wednesday 5th March was very well attended and we had some good discussions around the Local Plan. However, we have received some feedback since that meeting that some people are upset and have the feeling that it is a done deal.
It is our plan to work with residents, from Wakes Colne, Chappel and hopefully Chappel PC, on key issues: e.g. viability and safety + infrastructure generally. PLEASE E MAIL LocalPlan@wakescolne-pc.gov.uk if you are interested in playing a part and helping out.
The outcome will form the basis of a sound response to the rescheduled statutory 6-week consultation period, which is currently due to commence in December 2025. However, there is a very good chance that it may be ready to commence sooner than Dec. We will be advised by Colchester City Council.
For further information, at the moment, the 6-week consultation falls over the Christmas period, so it will be extended by a few days to reflect the bank holidays.
